Our 34’ Series has proven to withstand an absolute beating that would destroy most boats. Yet a Munson will continue to get the job done for decades. Our 34’ landing craft are in service from the Arctic Slope to Antarctica moving supplies from icebreakers to McMurdo Station. It is a proven workhorse that is capable of transporting full size vehicles, first responders, and heavy equipment up to 4-5 tons.

Canoe Island, WA: Located in the center of the San Juan Islands, Canoe Island French Camp welcomes 200 children and families each summer to study French language and culture within the security of the private island. The 34’ M/V La Reine (The Queen) is USCG certified for 20 passengers and is used as a ferry for the small island camp. The 18’ long cargo deck allows for transportation of large cargo and has removable seat lockers for passengers. Port and starboard side doors make boarding from the dock a breeze. Zipwake dynamic interceptors automatically control pitch and roll while underway and a Webatso cabin heater was installed for winter time operations.

Pittsburgh, PA: Pittsburgh is located at the confluence of three rivers: the Allegheny, the Monongahela, and the Ohio. This unique geographical feature provides scenic views and numerous recreational opportunities. The US Army Corps of Engineers uses this 34’ Munson for transporting equipment and personnel while maintaining the local infrastructure. Vessel outfitting includes a 12V bow door, port and starboard side boarding doors, lifting davit and 5kw diesel generator, air conditioner, diesel fired cabin and garmin navigation suite.

Charleston, SC: The South Carolina State Law Enforcement Dive Unit selected this 34’ Packcat for use with underwater robotics, search & recovery and protection of maritime infrastructure. A 16 kW generator provides power to ROV’s, computers and dual rooftop air conditioners. The Suzuki 350 outboards are installed with Optimus 360 joystick controls, providing station hold capabilities during ROV and dive ops. Additional outfitting includes Shox 2000 suspension seats, Webatso forced air cabin heater, tinted windows, black out window shades, davit with 12V winch, tow post, and engine guard. St. Ignace, MI: Built in 1953, Enbridge Pipeline travels deep under the Straits of Mackinac for 4.5 miles, and has never experienced a leak in more than 65 years of operation. A pair of these 34’ Munson response vessels stand by in the event of a spill or fire. Each vessel is outfitted with a portable Munson “Fire Ant” self-contained skid mounted 500 GPM fire pump to allow the fire pump system to be quickly removed/installed on the main deck when needed. Portland, OR: Located on the Columbia River, the Port of Portland is Oregon’s largest and only deep draft container port. Dredging is vital for maintaining the river’s shipping channel. This 34’ Munson is used as a survey vessel for monitoring the navigation channel. Outfitting includes a walk-through cabin with seating for six, two work stations for using computers, 5 kW generator, roof top air conditioner and large thru-hull transducer well located at the LCG of the vessel.

Haiti: World Vision has supported long-term programs focused on community development since 1959. The organization has also provided relief supplies and assisted with the recovery from major natural disasters. Their 34’ Munson is used to support their relief efforts as well as transport personnel and supplies. Lahaina, HI: No Ka Oi is a blue water fishing boat operating in the Hawaiian Islands. The offset wheelhouse is climate controlled and features plenty of seating and storage making her perfect for extended trips. A forward seat locker doubles as a fish hold and the independently controlled kicker produces the fast trolling speeds required for Hawaii fishing without running the main engines. Austin, TX: The Lake Patrol Unit is responsible for patrolling Lake Travis and enforcing the Texas Water Safety Act. Port Alsworth, AK: The M/V Jay Hammond is in service at the Samaritan's Purse Foundation lodge in western Alaska. The lodge offers sightseeing, fishing and kayaking opportunities free of charge to wounded military servicemen and women and their spouses. Designed to be wheelchair accessible extra wide cabin doors and fold away seating were integrated into the wheelhouse. Other features include forced air cabin heat and kayak racks on the wheelhouse roof.

Washington, DC: The FBI Underwater Search Evidence Response Team is responsible for locating evidence underwater as large as a jet engine and as small as a bullet. Computer work stations with overhead 21" monitors allow the Dive Team to analyze data during operations. Other special features include storage for 14 SCUBA bottles, Kohler 5Kw generator, and a highway legal gooseneck bunk trailer. Special padeyes were installed on the boat and trailer allowing secure transport in C130 Hercules Aircraft.

Charleston, SC: Located in Charleston Harbor, Fort Sumter was the site of the first shots of the Civil War. Park staff commutes to the Fort Sumter National Monument 7 days per week. A special stairway and railings were installed on the bow door to access the monument dock ladder and the wheelhouse offers seating for 14 passengers. A short sliding door at the helm allows the captain to operate/tie up the boat from the console without crew.

Seattle, WA: The U.S. Coast Guard Icebreakers Healy, Polar Sea and Polar Star operate four "LCVP" (Landing Craft Vehicle - Personnel) as tenders and research platforms during polar exploration missions. An extensive shore power system supplies engine block heaters and AC heating units installed in the engine room and wheelhouse. This "life support" system ensures that the LCVP is always ready for immediate deployment in arctic conditions.

Vancouver, WA: David Evans & Associates is a recognized industry leader in accurate, high-precision hydrographic and geophysical surveys for environmental, engineering and scientific applications. Their new 34’ Munson trailerable survey vessel incorporates an open transom design with hydraulic A-frame and deck winch for deploying various instruments. Rotating sonar arms are installed along the port & starboard sides. A 9kW generator provides power for two Dometic rooftop air conditioners and onboard computer systems. A large survey desk was provided with two CPU racks installed on shock mitigating mounts. Additional outfitting includes a head compartment in the cuddy cabin, Garmin electronics package, and dual control stations with Volvo joystick piloting and dynamic positioning.

Seattle, WA: Whether your destination is a dock, another vessel, a dive site, or a point on shore, Aluminator Water Taxi can get you there safely and on time. Based out of Seattle the M/V Aluminator provided diver support for the Pier 91 unexploded munitions disposal project. The wheelhouse features an enclosed head compartment, full galley and seating for six for passenger transport and six standard shipping pallets can be secured to the forward deck.

Richmond, CA: When an oil tanker arrives at the Chevron Texaco refinery in Richmond it is immediately surrounded by containment boom to protect the surrounding waterway in the event of an incident. When a tanker arrives the Wharf Raider 1 deploys containment boom by backing around the ship. Special round corners were incorporated into the transom to provide more control while vessel is in reverse. A removable hydraulic boom roller assists the crew in retrieving the boom.

Sequim, WA: The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service Refuge System acquire the land base necessary to protect diverse natural communities. They provide survey and boundary information of Service lands which involves the transport of heavy equipment to remote jobsites. Hydraulic transom jacks allow shallow water operation and a 6000 lb. tractor is secured to the main deck with flush tie-down pockets. The wheelhouse features forced air heat and flip up work table.

Hoonah, AK: The M/V Humdinger is an overnight sport fishing boat in Southeast Alaska. The offset wheelhouse offers an enclosed head compartment with hot water shower, convertible settee and a galley cabinet. A trunk cabin forward of the main console provides sleeping for two. Fishing equipment includes three 12v downrigger mounts and rocket launcher style rod rack. A forward helm station lets fisherman control the boat within arm's reach of the gear.

Greenville, NC: East Carolina University Marine and Coastal Science Program educates students on coastal and marine resources unique to North Carolina. The R/V Stanley Riggs features a one-ton A-frame located equipped with hydraulic positioning cylinders and a PL2 Pull Master Winch. A hydraulic winch mounted on the aft deck is capable of deploying and retrieving scientific equipment. Other features include an enclosed head compartment, Onan generator and a fly bridge control station.
